Vertical Slice is an embedded game-based learning partner to universities, foundations and organisations , designing hackathon systems, play-based curriculum and the roadmaps that outlast us.
We work as a partner, not a vendor, at the executive table and inside the game engine. Every engagement is built to be handed over: events your campus runs, courses your faculty teach, products that ship.

The studio takes its name from game development: a vertical slice is a thin piece of the game finished to final quality,proof the whole thing works. We build learning programmes the same way. Small, complete, playable. Quality over quantity is not our slogan; it is the business model.
Our goal is to merge high end product development with game based learning at a quality standard that has not been seen in the field and reach as many learners as possible.

Why Lab
Our development style is that of a lab. It is experimental moving towards the unknown with an idea of iterate fast and dirty at its heart. We do not belive in the factory method of development devoid of creative spirit, we believe that innovation comes through risk and discomfort.
